Bloch & Chapleau, Cates, Ongert is a unique law firm with 40 years of experience with offices in Denver, the Vail Valley, Summit County, and Park Meadows. Our partners, Joseph Bloch, and Trent Ongert, personally handle every injury case together as a team. This means you will have two partners with 40 years of experience working on your case. Big firms with a revolving door of attorneys often assign a case manager or a paralegal to your case, resulting in several successive attorneys working on your case before it comes to fruition. At Bloch & Chapleau, Joe and Trent will handle your case from start to finish. We pride ourselves on our personal service and attention to every case. We have been instrumental in drafting and proposing ski safety legislation, aptly titled, The Fox Guarding the Hen House.
Our legal success is unparalleled. Joe Bloch obtained a Punitive Damages jury verdict against Vail Resorts in the case Aarons v. The Vail Corporation, Inc. Joe also obtained an Outrageous Conduct jury verdict against State Farm in the case Lacerra vs. State Farm. Joe and Trent also litigated a highly publicized dog attack case, Legro v. Robinson, which involved three separate, successful appeals, including the first-ever interlocutory appeal to the Colorado Court of Appeals, before obtaining a $1 million policy limits settlement for their client. We are members of the elite Million Dollard Advocates Forum and Top 1% of Nationwide Attorneys.
In addition to personally investigating every injury case, we work with professional engineers, former ski and highway patrollers, accident investigators, and other experts to prove your case. Joe and Trent come from different backgrounds but come together to form an unbeatable team. Our lifelong experiences, knowledge, dedication, and expertise give Bloch & Chapleau a unique advantage that the other law firms don’t have to win your case.
Our founding partner, Joe Bloch, is a former professional skier, ski racer, and snowboarder. He now lives primarily in the Vail Valley.
